Mar 11 - For breakfast Grant ate an entire banana and a handful of Nutrios all by himself. He has a healthy appetite sometimes!
Mar 13-18 - Grant's first vacation! There was a lot of swimming and fun in Fort Meyers, Florida with Grandma Adele and Grandpa Des. Grant flew on his first plane.
Mar 19 - Grant's fine motor skills are improving. Today he was able to put all 3 of his balls, one by one, into his giraffe toy.
Mar 22 - Not wanting to eat his breakfast, Grant signs "milk" to his mommy.
Mar 25 - Grant climbed the stairs for the first time. It took him several tries but he did it twice.
Mar 26 - Grant is now an expert at climbing the stairs. He has really gotten good at pulling himself up using whatever is nearby. He will also take steps if you hold him and walk with him.
Mar 30 - Mommy found Grant standing up in his crib leaning over the edge babbling to himself and drooling onto the carpet at 4am. Time to lower the crib mattress to the last setting! Today at lunch Grant signed "more" for more toast with hummus and apple slices.
Apr 2 - Grant has really begun to cruise around when standing up. He started by moving from one side of his activity table to the next side. Soon after he began moving from one surface to the next by reaching out to whatever was nearby.
Apr 6 - During nap time sometimes Grant is up to no good. Today Mommy found him in his crib surrounded by washcloths that he must have pulled off the side table through his crib bars.
Apr 10 - Grant attended his first birthday party which was for his friend Jackson Desaulniers.
Grant's big milestone this month is pulling himself up. Not a few days after successfully doing it in his Pack'nPlay, he became an expert at doing it against his activity table. Sometimes Grant likes to pull himself up and then turn around to reach for mommy - this has led to cruising along his toys and the furniture. He really gets around! He also likes to stand up and look over at the other side of things. He has discovered that everything has a back and underside. Occasionally he will take two toys and bang them together but he has not started clapping yet. This month has also seen many new sounds - the consonants "b" and "m" (in addition to his earlier "g") as well as shrieking. Toward the end of the month he started showing signs of teething again but no teeth have yet to be seen. His hair is getting a lot longer and often sticks up in every direction after a good nap or bath. On the last day of the month he had his first ever projectile vomiting incident followed by his first unmistakable diarrhea - it appears he may have a gastro bug, which explains why he was uninterested in eating for much of the day. Poor little guy.
